Le Nuku Hiva Completes Accommodation Renovation
Le Nuku Hiva, a Relais & Châteaux property, has completed the renovation of its accommodations, bringing guests closer to the island's soul.
The bungalows sit on the hillside above Taiohae Bay. Inside, woven pandanus ceilings, new furnishings, tapestries reimagined with Marquesan motifs. The bathrooms have been rebuilt from scratch, with double vanities and quiet, contemporary lines.
Each veranda opens onto the bay itself: a volcanic amphitheatre held between dark hills, watched over by two rock formations known as the Sentinels.
The works of Evrard Chaussoy live in every room. A Polynesian artist, he draws from Nuku Hiva's landscapes and ancestral symbols. His pieces do not decorate the space. They root it.
